Recently, POWERCHINA won the bid for the Barueri Waste-to-energy EPC project. The project is the first waste-to-energy project in Brazil, with an installed capacity of 19.1MW. After completion, the solid waste treatment capacity will reach 870 tons per day, which can process waste generated by 740,000 people and provide electricity services for 320,000 people.

As one of the earliest Chinese enterprises to enter Brazil, POWERCHINA is also a witness of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Brazil. It has undertaken the construction of the second phase of the Candiota Power Plant, the 500 kV supporting power transmission project of the Trispils Hydropower Station, the Meilishan UHV Project, and the Sao Paulo Power Plant. Metro Line 2, etc. Among them, the 3, 4, and 5 bid sections of São Paulo Metro Line 2 have all entered the main construction stage, and the project progress is the first in the whole line. Not long ago, POWERCHINA signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the 7 bidding sections, and ranked among the top rail transit contractors in Brazil in terms of the total contract value of the performance projects.

Upholding the concepts of high-end entry, leading technology, open cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win, POWERCHINA relies on the two technology platforms of Grid America Research Institute and National Solid Waste Industrialization Application Research Center to introduce domestic advanced and mature municipal solid waste incineration and purification technologies into Brazil, assisting project owners to promote the introduction of relevant favorable policies in Brazil. Winning the bid for this project signifies that POWERCHINA has established a first-mover advantage in the field of municipal solid waste power generation in the American regional market, laying a solid foundation for POWERCHINA to further expand its solid waste recycling business in Brazil and even the Americas.Editor/XuNing
