Lingqu Canal in Guangxi is an artificial canal known as "the pearl of ancient water conservancy construction in the world". The Lingqu Canal was built in 214 BC, with a total length of about 37 kilometers. It is the first mountain crossing canal in human history, because it connects the Xiangjiang River and the Lijiang River, and connects the Yangtze River and the Pearl River. On the Maritime Silk Road, the Lingqu Canal is like a link connecting the Central Plains and overseas.

There is an ancient and rich farming culture around the Lingqu Canal. The farming culture benefits the people around the Lingqu Canal and is also spread overseas through the Lingqu Canal. After more than 2000 years of trials and tribulations, the Lingqu Canal still plays a role in irrigation, flood discharge, Lijiang River water replenishment, tourism, etc. Therefore, it is also known by experts as a "living heritage".

Chen Xinghua, former deputy curator of Xing'an County Museum in Guilin, Guangxi: The so-called "living" means that the original heritage still plays its original function and role, and the Lingqu Canal still uses its original and original function. For example, our herringbone dam and our water release balance are still serving today. Edit/Ma Xue
