In July, the Ain region of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is scorching hot. During the hot season, only our base in the entire UAE can consistently produce tomatoes, thanks to our advanced planting technology, "said Tang Quanzhi, General Manager of the UAE Green Silicon Valley Industrial Park, pointing to a string of plump tomatoes.

On July 14, 2025, the UAE Green Silicon Valley Industrial Park, jointly established by China Shouguang Vegetable Industry Group and the well-known agricultural technology enterprise Silal in the UAE, operates a 5-hectare planting base covering more than ten varieties such as tomatoes, colored peppers, cherry tomatoes, and melons. In the cherry tomato planting area, Tang Quanzhi stated that the base's products are uniformly distributed by partners, and the market feedback is excellent. The small tomatoes tasted by the reporter on site have a sweet taste and abundant juice.

Tang Quanzhi introduced that during the high temperature season, the base can supply 2000 kilograms of tomatoes, 2000 kilograms of cherry tomatoes, and 3000 kilograms of colored peppers daily, and the products are in short supply. The United Arab Emirates has a tropical desert climate, with high temperatures and droughts in summer. Agricultural planting conditions are harsh, and agricultural products have long relied on imports. In recent years, the UAE government has vigorously promoted the development of local agriculture, providing broad application space for technologies such as smart greenhouses and water-saving irrigation.

Chinese agricultural technology has enormous potential in the UAE market, "said Tang Quanzhi." Our off-season planting technology in Shouguang has successfully solved the problem of winter vegetable production in China, and now we have overcome the planting challenges in the high-temperature environment of the UAE. "From soil improvement to soilless cultivation, from temperature control management to water-saving irrigation, the base has formed a scientific planting system. In the melon planting area, Tang Quanzhi revealed that 18 experimental varieties are expected to be launched in 38 days, with a controllable maturity period. In addition, the base innovatively adopts a groundwater desalination irrigation system and is equipped with a solar off grid power supply scheme to achieve efficient energy utilization.

Milad, the head of Silal's base in the United Arab Emirates, stated that China's greenhouse technology has significantly improved planting efficiency and product quality. The customer representative Ali, who is currently loading, also praised the product for its excellent appearance and taste. In May of this year, Silal Company signed an agreement with Shouguang Vegetable Industry Group to invest 120 million dirhams (approximately 33 million US dollars) in the Ain area to build a 10 hectare intelligent agricultural technology center, integrating artificial intelligence and robot technology, covering the entire process of precision sowing, intelligent environmental control, automatic irrigation, and robot harvesting, and promoting capacity improvement.

Silal CEO Salemin Ameri stated that the project aims to create a sustainable agriculture model and provide new solutions for food security in the Gulf region. Tang Quanzhi revealed that the new center will start production in December and plans to introduce nearly a hundred Chinese agricultural products in the future to enrich the supply in the UAE market.
