On November 4, 2022, during the 2022 Economic Forum held in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan, NEEDC Northeast Engineering Research Institute, as the leading party of the consortium, successfully held the signing ceremony for the 500 kV transmission line general contracting project of Naboi Thermal Power Station Bisoban Station in Uzbekistan with the project owner. The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction, the President of the State Grid Corporation of Uzbekistan Dadaaron Isakulov, the Vice President Feruz Kulbanov and leaders of relevant departments, representatives of China Energy Construction International Group Central Asia Co., Ltd. and representatives of the consortium partners.

The project is invested and constructed by the State Grid Corporation of Uzbekistan and financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project site is located in the Navoi region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The construction scale of the project is 178 km 500 kV and 44 km 220 kV overhead transmission lines. The construction period is 2 years.

The implementation of this project will improve the capacity of the power system of the Republic of Uzbekistan, strengthen the reliability, stability and flexibility of the operation of the power grid as a whole. It is an important part of the plan for the modernization of the power grid and the upgrading and reconstruction of the transmission infrastructure in the country, and provides reliable power guarantee for its socio-economic development.Editor/Xing Wentao
