CITIC Bo, the manufacturer of photovoltaic racks and trackers, signed a 2.8GW tracker supply agreement for a solar project in Gujarat, India. The company will provide Skyline II single axis solar tracker for the project. The company said that by combining synchronous multi-point drive mechanism and pentagonal torque tube, it can help improve the resilience of photovoltaic power plants to storm dew. CITIC Bo said that this technology can make the tracker rigid enough to reduce the wind pressure difference between the inside and outside of the photovoltaic device.
CITIC Bo said that the project will be a 15GW installation project, but did not specify other details. The company said that since entering the Indian market in 2015, it has provided 7GW of solar tracking and shelf solutions for Indian projects, and cited Wood Mackenzie's research.
In August, the company opened its first 3GW tracker manufacturing plant in Gujarat, India. In 2022, the Indian government will focus on the solar energy manufacturing base, levy taxes on solar energy imports, and encourage domestic manufacturing through its incentive plan related to production.Editor/Xing Wentao
