According to the Ministry of Industry and New Technology of Tajikistan, the first phase of Tajikistan plans to build five solar power stations with a total installed capacity of 430 megawatts, and gradually increase the number of solar power stations to bring the total installed capacity to 730 megawatts.

Hydropower is still the main source of electricity for Tajikistan. In 2022, Tajikistan's national power generation will be about 21.4 billion kwh, and the daily electricity consumption will be 81 million kwh, reaching the highest level in Tajikistan's history.

As we all know, power resources are non-storable resources. As Tajikistan, which has the highest water resources reserves in the world, the development and utilization of water resources has always been the foundation of the country's economic prosperity. At present, a large number of large, medium and small hydropower stations such as the Tarogun Hydropower Station and the Dashkijum Hydropower Station are under construction. Due to the mountainous terrain in the east, middle and north of Tajikistan, the three power grids mentioned above cannot be connected to each other. The abundant power of the cascade hydropower station on the Vakhsh River in the central part cannot be transported in time to the east and north where power generation is seriously insufficient, resulting in huge waste. Although the Uzbek power grid can be used to detour and transmit electricity to the north, the disadvantages of this move are that it is restricted by others, and the cost is huge.

Theoretically speaking, when the Luogong Hydropower Station is completed, the tower will be completely self-sufficient in electricity, and there will be a large amount of surplus for export. Comes the greater waste. Therefore, the government of Tajikistan has launched several power transmission lines at present. The two most urgent lines are: one is the 500 kV north-south power transmission line from the Rogun Hydropower Station via Dushanbe, north along the Tau-Ukraine Highway to the northern capital of Huzhande. The power of the Cascade Hydropower Station of the Vakhsh River is transmitted to the northern region and exported to Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and other countries; 220 kV transmission line, which will transmit the power of the Sangetud Hydropower Station to the southeast of Tajikistan and export it to Afghanistan.
