Recently, a modern railway corridor that runs through the heartland of the Middle East is moving from blueprint to reality. Saudi Arabia and Türkiye are accelerating the construction of the railway corridor connecting Syria and Jordan. The two sides have launched a joint feasibility study, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026. This north-south corridor, based on the historical route of the Hanzhi Railway, will be connected to the Saudi railway system and reach Riyadh in the future, injecting new momentum into the connectivity of the Middle East region.
