[Hubei Xiangyang City 20GWh new energy lithium battery project signed] On the afternoon of May 8, 2023, the Xiangyang Municipal Government of Hubei Province and Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation agreement. The Management Committee of Xiangyang Dongjin New District and Ganfeng Lithium Power Co., Ltd. signed a new energy lithium battery production and research base project investment agreement. According to the agreement, Ganfeng Lithium Battery will invest 10 billion yuan in Dongjin New District to build a 20GWh new energy lithium battery production and research project. The two parties will also cooperate in the field of recycling, and build waste lithium battery cascade utilization and dismantling recycling projects according to subsequent market conditions. The project will be constructed in two phases, of which the first phase will build a battery production line with an annual output of 10GWh and supporting ancillary facilities, and the second phase will expand the production capacity to 20GWh. The project construction includes lithium battery production workshop, pack workshop, system integration workshop, lithium battery analysis and testing center, lithium battery module and safety testing center, lithium battery research and development center and other supporting auxiliary industrial facilities. After the completion of the project, it will further expand the scale of the new energy lithium battery industry in Xiangyang City, and give full play to the advantages of phosphate rock resources in Xiangyang City, thereby driving the agglomeration and development of industries such as lithium iron phosphate cathode, graphite anode and structural parts, and achieving the goal of strong chain replenishment and chain extension. In particular, it can take advantage of the leading technical and market advantages of Ganfeng Lithium Battery in the semi-solid and solid-state power battery subdivision industry, enrich the types of new energy power batteries, improve industrial supporting capabilities and market competitiveness, and help Xiangyang build energy storage batteries and power batteries Industrial clusters. • [Qiongzhou Strait transportation new energy vehicle ship successfully docked]
  • On the afternoon of October 8th, under the on-site escort of the Guangdong Zhanjiang Maritime Bureau's "Haixun 0927" ship, the first flatbed cargo ship dedicated to the transportation of new energy vehicles in the Qiongzhou Strait, the "Green Source No. 1" ship, slowly entered the Xuwen Hai'an New Port, marking the successful trial operation of the ship's roll on/roll off transport route in the Qiongzhou Strait. It is reported that the deck cargo ship "Green Source No.1" has a total tonnage of 6731, a net tonnage of 3769, a length of 125.8 meters, and a width of 28 meters. The ship adopts a single-layer deck design, which can carry more than 160 new energy vehicles on a single voyage under full load conditions. The parking capacity is about 60% higher than that of existing passenger and roll on/roll off transport ships. The ship is planned to be deployed on the route from Hai'an New Port in Zhanjiang to Xiuying Port in Haikou. After being put into operation, it will add a new mode of sea transportation for new energy vehicles in the Qiongzhou Strait and effectively alleviate the tense situation of insufficient capacity for new energy vehicle transportation during the peak period of cross sea vehicle transportation in the Qiongzhou Strait. • [Malaysia's energy transition has made progress]
  • On October 9, 2024, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Fadhila stated that Malaysia has made progress in improving energy efficiency and that "energy conservation" has become the key to energy transition. Meanwhile, Malaysia will promote the ASEAN power grid as a key topic of discussion at the ASEAN Energy Ministers' Meeting. At the 2024 Asia Power and Energy Exhibition, which opened on the 8th, Fadhila revealed that as of June, Malaysia has saved 8769 gigawatt hours of electricity, worth over 2.2 billion ringgit, and plans to reduce 38 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions by 2025. In addition, the Malaysian government has approved the establishment of an energy exchange aimed at selling green electricity to neighboring countries. As the rotating chair of ASEAN in 2025, Malaysia will promote the construction of the ASEAN power grid to promote the promotion of renewable energy and enhance the resilience and reliability of electricity supply in ASEAN member countries.
