China's first new intelligent floating production, storage, and unloading device has been successfully taken offline! The device has a captain of 241.5 meters, a molded width of 45.2 meters, a molded depth of 25.4 meters, and a deck area equivalent to the size of 1.5 standard football fields.

On June 16, 2023, the new intelligent FPSO Offshore Oil 123, built by CNOOC Investment, completed onshore construction and successfully delivered in Nantong, Jiangsu, marking new progress in CNOOC's accelerated promotion of offshore intelligent oilfield construction.

Floating production, storage, and unloading equipment is a high-end large-scale offshore engineering equipment for extracting marine oil and gas resources. It can achieve the extraction, processing, storage, export, and power generation of offshore oil, natural gas, and other energy sources, and is known as an offshore oil and gas processing plant. China has become one of the world's largest FPSO manufacturing and application countries, with the highest number and total tonnage of FPSOs in the world.

Compared with ordinary FPSOs, the biggest feature of Offshore Oil 123 is its high degree of intelligence. It is the first new FPSO in China that has applied cloud computing, Big data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, edge computing and other digital technologies. Editor/Xie Li
