On July 12, 2023, Honghua Egypt EPHH, a subsidiary of DEC Honghua under DEC, held the delivery ceremony of the first set of Egypt made 2000 horsepower fully automatic land rig in Suhanna, Suez Governorate Province, Egypt.

The successful localized production of this rig in Egypt is a vivid practice of DEC's continuous promotion of international cooperation and exchange under the initiative of jointly building the the Belt and Road. It is a major achievement of the transformation of the central enterprise's "going global" model from product input to technology output. It fills the gap in Egypt's long-term independent manufacturing of oil and gas equipment, and has an important impact on the development of Egypt's oil and gas industry.

Tarek El Molla, Minister of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt, Abdel Mageed Sakr, Governor of Suez, Charles Zhang, Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, Alaa El Batal, Chairman of Egypt Petroleum Corporation, Zhang Aimin, Deputy General Manager of Honghua International, and others attended the ceremony. On the day of the event, the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources introduced the delivery ceremony on Facebook.

Charles Zhang, Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, pointed out that the successful delivery of the project is an important result of years of good cooperation between DEC and Egyptian partners, and it is also a vivid example of Chinese enterprises in Egypt actively participating in the joint construction of the the Belt and Road between China and Egypt to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. China is willing to work with Egypt to fully implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, further tap the potential of cooperation between the two sides, help the high-quality co construction of the the Belt and Road cooperation to further deepen and implement, constantly enrich the connotation of China Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership, and better enhance the well-being of the two peoples.

At the ceremony, Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt, highly praised Honghua Egypt's innovative spirit and efforts. He stated that the Honghua Egypt team has set new standards for the industry with professional knowledge and perseverance, playing a crucial role in promoting local manufacturing.
