Recently, China Railway Group's survey and design of the Jinan West Second High Speed Railway Station in the Shandong section of the Jinan Zhengzhou Railway successfully lifted and placed the simply supported steel channel beam across the Beijing Shanghai Third and Fourth Line, laying a solid foundation for the opening of the Zhengzhou Jinan High Speed Railway.

The Jinan West Second High Speed Railway Station adopts a 40m span double track orthotropic bridge deck simply supported steel channel beam to cross the Beijing Shanghai Third and Fourth Line. This beam is currently the largest span steel channel beam in domestic railways, with a width of 13.08m and a weight of 450t. The innovative use of box section for the main longitudinal beam of the steel channel beam solves the problems of poor stability outside the main longitudinal beam and insufficient overall stiffness of the steel beam.

This hoisting construction is carried out by the 2000 ton super large crawler crane, which is rare in China. The 450t steel beam is lifted to a height of 16m, and then rotated 91 degrees counterclockwise to the right above the 3rd and 4th lines of the Beijing–Shanghai railway, and then slowly and accurately placed on the piers on both sides of the existing railway. The maximum hoisting radius is 68m. This construction also set a record for the maximum lifting weight of existing railways in China.

Zheng Ji Railway is an important part of the fast passenger transport network of Jinan Metropolitan Area, and an important support to improve the railway transport capacity and quality, and to meet the sustainable and rapid development of regional society and economy. After the completion of the project, the spatiotemporal distance between Jinan and Zhengzhou will be shortened to 1.5 hours, greatly facilitating the travel of residents in the two places and driving the economic development of relevant regions in the Middle East.
