On the morning of September 25, 2023, the Huaihe Energy Holding Group Xieqiao Power Plant 2×660MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired unit power generation project project officially started. The project was invested and constructed by Huaihe Energy Power Group, with a dynamic total investment of approximately 5.89 billion yuan.

The Xieqiao Power Plant 2×660MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired unit power generation project is located in Xieqiao Town, Yingshang County, Fuyang City. It relies on the planning and construction of clean and efficient coal-fired power at the 10-million-ton Xieqiao Coal Mine. It is an integrated coal-fired power plant encouraged by national policies. The project is also another key project to support Fuyang's construction of "three places, one district and one city" and support Anhui's efforts to build a UHV power supply hub in the Yangtze River Delta. The project is planned to be put into operation before the end of September 2025. After it is put into operation, it will be able to supply 6.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and achieve an output value of 3 billion yuan. It is of great significance for ensuring the power supply in Anhui Province and promoting the economic and social development of northwest Anhui.

The implementation of this project can meet the future load growth needs of Anhui Province, especially in northwest Anhui, and will help improve the economics of power grid operation and power supply reliability. The project achieves an industrial output value of more than 3 billion yuan every year and pays about 200 million yuan in taxes and fees, which will effectively stimulate local economic and social development.
