Recently, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region held a major project commencement ceremony. At the ceremony, the 1.2 million ton/year Phase II ethylene project of PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Company in Tarim was officially launched, which is an important measure for PetroChina to promote the transformation and upgrading of the company's refining business and accelerate green and low-carbon development.
Xinjiang is a bridgehead for China's opening up to the west, a core area for the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt, and a key province for PetroChina's investment and development. With strong support from governments at all levels, China Petroleum's directly affiliated enterprises in Xinjiang have rapidly developed in exploration and development, refining and chemical engineering, financial logistics, new energy and new materials, and have made outstanding contributions to ensuring national energy security and promoting the economic and social development of Xinjiang.
This project is located on the northern edge of the Taklamakan Desert, in the Korla Shangku Industrial Park, and is an important project of China Petroleum Dushanzi Petrochemical Company. After the completion of the project, Dushanzi Petrochemical will become the largest refining and chemical base in China, exerting the radiative driving effect and factor agglomeration function of major projects, leading the agglomeration of industrial enterprises, and fully stimulating new momentum for regional coordinated development. It will undoubtedly make greater contributions to the economic and social development of Xinjiang.
China Petroleum strives to build projects into green projects, benefit projects, and sunshine projects. All participating units should strengthen their organization and implementation in accordance with the general requirements of standardized design, large-scale procurement, factory prefabrication, modular construction, intelligent management, and digital delivery, and effectively turn the project into a livelihood project that benefits the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang.
