PowerChina and Irish developer Mainstream signed an agreement on October 11, 2023 to build a 67.3 MW photovoltaic project in the Irikua area of the Free State of South Africa. The project is a private IPP power station development encouraged by the South African government. part of the plan.
The project will provide clean and reliable power supply to local factories and mines, thereby contributing to alleviating the power crisis and promoting economic and social development in South Africa. This is also one of the important achievements of PowerChina's implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative in South Africa, and will further expand its competitiveness and brand influence in the South African power market.

The construction of the project will be divided into two phases, one of which is a 123.2 MW photovoltaic project in the Damragat region of South Africa. Through the good performance of the first phase of the project, the owner fully recognized PowerChina's capabilities and preliminary work progress, and decided to conduct more in-depth cooperation.
PowerChina has rich experience and a good track record in the South African power market. The construction of this project will further consolidate its position in the South African power market and contribute to local economic development and social employment.
