On April 17, 2020, the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission formally approved the preliminary design research report of the Jiaxing City Tram T1 Line Phase I Project and T2 Line Phase I Project (Yuehebei Station-Huancheng South Road Station).

The first phase of the T1 line of the tram in Jiaxing City starts at Anle Road Station of Zhongshan Road and ends at Jiaxing South Station Station. The line is 13.8 kilometers long and has 21 stations, including 15 annual stations (Anle Road Station and Hexing Road). Station, Pingshan Station, People's Park Station, Jiaxing Station, Binhe Road Station, Nanhu Lake Station, Yanyu Road Station, Jiaxing No. 1 Middle Station, Central Park Station, Business Avenue Station, Shuangxi Road Station, Qingfeng Road Station, Chuli Road Station and Jiaxing South Station, of which Jiaxing Station is an underground station, the remaining 14 are ground stations), 6 reserved stations (all ground stations), with an average station spacing of 690 meters, constructing 1 Qingfeng Road Vehicle Base (control center).

The first phase of the T2 line of Jiaxing City Tram (Yuehebei Station First Ring City South Road Station) line starts at Yuehe North Station and finally reaches Huancheng South Road Station. The line is 1.8 kilometers long and has 5 stations (Yuehe North Station, Beili) Bridge Station, Qinjian Road Station, Pingshan Station and Huancheng South Road Station are all ground stations), with an average distance of 450 meters.

The first batch of 20 trains all use 100% low-floor, steel wheel rails, super capacitor energy storage traction powered trams, with a maximum operating speed of 70 km / h.

After the project is completed, it will provide citizens with more convenient travel conditions, and strengthen the space-time distance between Jiaxing and the urban agglomeration and economic zone of the Yangtze River Delta, which is of great significance for improving the line network structure, exerting the network benefits, and achieving the sustainable development of rail transit.
