The construction of the Yongzhou Railway has ushered in a new starting point! On March 16, 2024, with the joint efforts of China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute and China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau, the first pile foundation of Fujimen dual-purpose bridge was successfully poured, marking the official entry of this critical project into the construction phase. This important progress not only demonstrates China's strong strength in the field of transportation infrastructure construction, but also foreshadows the brilliant future prospects of the Yongzhou Railway.
As an important part of the Yongzhou Railway, the Fujimen dual-purpose bridge has a main span of 388 meters, cleverly connecting Fujimen Island with Zhoushan Island, becoming the closest cross sea passage to Zhoushan Island along the entire line. This bridge has a unique design, adopting the form of a cable-stayed bridge with high and low towers on the same floor as the highway and railway. The road and railway are arranged on a flat level, and the width of the main beam reaches 56.5 meters. During the construction process, the engineering team will utilize multiple innovative processes and technological means to ensure the safety and stability of the bridge.
The Yongzhou Railway, with a total length of about 76.4 kilometers, is a world-renowned cross sea island project that is expected to be ready for operation by 2028. With the completion and opening of the railway, Zhoushan will bid farewell to the history of no railway access and usher in new development opportunities. This not only helps to further improve the layout of Zhejiang's railway network and enhance the level of regional transportation connectivity, but also effectively promotes the prosperous development of the tourism industry along the route, injecting new vitality into the local economy.
