Henan Wuyue Pumped Storage Power Station Project is an important project of energy construction in Henan Province. It is located in Yinpeng Township, Guangshan County, Xinyang City. The upper reservoir dam, the core component of this project, uses a reinforced concrete face rockfill dam. This dam type combines the strength of reinforced concrete with the economy of a rockfill dam, ensuring the stability of the dam. safety, and saves construction costs.

The crest elevation of the dam reaches 351.00 meters, the maximum dam height is 128.20 meters, and the maximum slant length of the panel reaches 182 meters. This huge project scale undoubtedly places extremely high demands on the technical level and organizational capabilities of the builders. Among them, the concrete panels were divided into 133 warehouses for pouring, and the total concrete pouring project volume reached 51,000 cubic meters. The body design of the panel concrete is mainly arc-shaped. This design is not only beautiful, but also can better withstand the effects of water pressure and earthquake forces. However, this also makes the technical control requirements higher, the working surface is narrow, and the construction organization is extremely difficult.

The construction goal of the Wuyue Pumped Storage Power Station in Henan is to be fully operational and generate electricity in 2026. By then, the power station will be connected to the Henan Power Grid with 500 kV lines and become an important supporting force for the Henan Power Grid. The main task of the power station is to undertake peak shaving, valley filling, frequency modulation, phase modulation and emergency backup tasks of the Henan power grid, providing stable and reliable guarantee for Henan's power supply.
