On that day, a total of 10 cutting-edge projects were successfully signed, among which the cooperation project between Jinan Jinggu Research Institute and the Shandong headquarters of Laser Crystal Materials was particularly eye-catching.

It is understood that Jinan Jinggu Research Institute is a new research and development institution initiated by the Jinan Municipal Government in collaboration with Shandong University, aimed at national urgent needs and cutting-edge industries. It integrates advantages in scientific research, education, enterprises, and other functions. The research institute is committed to building a "one institute, three chains, and three circles" industrial innovation ecological layout. Among them, the first institute is the construction of Jinan Jinggu Research Institute, and the third chain is the creation of the new generation semiconductor industry chain, the optoelectronic integrated materials and device industry chain, and the RISC-V CPU industry chain; The three circles refer to the creation of three major layers: crystal materials, chip modules, and equipment applications, forming a material device equipment industry system. Small crystals are used to drive the big industry, promote the deep integration of innovation and industry chains, and support the high-quality development of Jinan's new generation semiconductor industry.

On site, Wu Kai, the Director of Investment Promotion at Jinan Jinggu Research Institute, told the New Yellow River reporter that the contracted project is for the research and production of laser crystal materials, which will invest in the research and production of functional crystals, mainly used in fields such as drones, radar, and optics.

At present, new quality productivity has become a key direction for development. In Wu Kai's view, new productive forces require research and development innovation, and the most important link is the pilot base. In fact, Jinan Jinggu Research Institute is carrying out the task of research and development innovation. At present, the research institute has established a pilot base, which will complete the transformation of scientific research achievements from 0 to 1 and from 1 to 10. After the pilot base is completed, the scientific research achievements will be industrialized and pushed to the market, thus completing the process from 10 to 100.

"In the future, we will gradually implement more projects to help Jinan form a billion level industrial cluster of small crystals and large industries." Wu Kai said that in the field of lasers, the research institute will rely on Jinan's laser equipment industry to supplement the upstream and midstream industrial chain, and help Jinan's laser industry grow and strengthen.

In the future, Jinan Jinggu Research Institute has set clear plans to build a full chain technology innovation and achievement transformation incubation platform that integrates basic research, applied research, engineering and industrialization. The platform will focus on high-tech fields such as third-generation semiconductor materials and chips, optoelectronic integrated materials and devices, and create industrial clusters to promote industrial innovation and upgrading. In the next five years, the research institute will strive to transform 50 scientific and technological achievements, acquire 200 intellectual property rights, and incubate and cultivate 40 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as 20 high-tech enterprises.
