On April 24, 2024, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region issued the "General Contracting Tender Announcement for the Second Line Project of the Zhundong General Temple to Hami Naomao Lake (Baishi Hunan) Railway". The project has been approved by the Development and Reform Commission of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Construction is scheduled to officially start in July and is expected to take three years to complete.
The project owner is Xinjiang Jiangnao Railway Co., Ltd., and the funds mainly come from the company's self-raised funds and bank loans. The company's own funds account for 25% of the total investment, and the remaining part will be settled through bank loans.
The project is located in Hami City and Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture in the northeastern part of Xinjiang. It starts from Bulak Station in the east and ends at Jiangjunmiao Station in the west. It has a total length of approximately 391.617 kilometers, of which Hami City occupies 279.340 kilometers and Changji Prefecture occupies 112.277 kilometers. The project will build a double-track railway with a design speed of 120km/h and a traction mass of 5,000t.
The bidding scope covers the design phase of the project and all engineering construction, including technical services, guidance, joint debugging and testing, completion acceptance, and maintenance and after-sales service during the warranty period. There is only one bid section in this bidding, namely the JNFXEPC bid section. For details of the project, please refer to the bill of quantities in the bidding document.
The planned construction period of the project is 1,094 calendar days, starting on July 1, 2024, and is expected to be completed on June 30, 2027.
