On March 15, 2024, China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd. disclosed the latest progress of the railway project under construction in Sichuan. The much-anticipated Chongqing-Kunming railway section from Chongqing to Yibin, also known as the Chuan-Chongqing section of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway, will be officially opened to traffic in 2024. At that time, Yibin, Luzhou and other cities in the southern Sichuan region will be directly connected with Chongqing by high-speed rail, and the travel time will be greatly shortened to less than 1 hour, greatly facilitating the travel of residents along the line.

The Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway starts from Chongqing West Railway Station, passes through Jiangjin and Yongchuan in Chongqing, then extends to Luzhou and Yibin in Sichuan province, then crosses to Zhaotong and Qujing in Yunnan Province, and finally arrives at Kunming South Railway Station. The whole line is about 700 kilometers long. Among them, the Sichuan-Chongqing section, as an important part of the main line with a total length of about 200 kilometers, has taken the lead in starting construction at the end of 2020.

At present, the Yibin power section project of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway has entered the final sprint stage of track fine-tuning, station building construction and "four power" project construction. In the construction of track precision adjustment, the construction team mainly based on the design line, and closely combined with the track measurement data, the geometric state of the track is carefully adjusted.

The construction work of Sichuan-Yunnan section of Chongqing-Kunming high-speed Railway is also in intensive progress. At present, the construction of 44 tunnels and 91 Bridges on the whole line has been fully underway, and the key control projects of 7 Bridges and tunnels are progressing smoothly and remarkable results have been achieved. In the Junlian Tunnel construction site, a Junlian engineering project, the workers are making great effort to carry out construction work to ensure that the project can be completed on time and in high quality.

The Nanchong to Bazhong section of the Hanbanan Railway, also known as the Banan high-speed Railway, which connects Nanchong and Bazhong, will be put into operation in 2024.

According to the latest data from China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., LTD., between January and February this year, the fixed asset investment of railway projects under construction in Sichuan under the jurisdiction of Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd. reached 5.986 billion yuan.
