On the morning of April 25, 2024, in Kongtong District, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, the construction of the bored piles of the Baishui Bridge and the Xinglin Village Tunnel of the Pingqing Railway officially started, marking the official start of construction of the Pingliang Section of the Pingqing Railway Project.

The total length of the Baishui Bridge is 966.46 meters. The bridge spans the existing rural roads and the main body of the newly built Xiping uplink line. The cross construction organization is difficult and the construction risks are high. The 10-1# pile foundation drilled this time has a pile diameter of 1.25 meters. It is 50 meters long and uses a rotary drilling rig to drill the holes.

The total length of the Xinglin Village Tunnel is about 6,478 meters. It is a single-hole, double-track tunnel. The Class V surrounding rock in the tunnel accounts for 34.9%, and the maximum burial depth is about 200 meters. The tunnel is a loess tunnel with soft geology, easy landslides, and complex topography. Transportation is inconvenient and construction is difficult.

The Pingqing Railway has a total length of approximately 92 kilometers. It is a national Class I dual-line passenger and freight electrified railway from Pingliang City to Qingyang City, Gansu Province.
