2024 is the tenth year of the China Europe freight train running in Hefei. Recently, at the logistics base of Hefei North Station, staff have just completed the shipment of a China Europe freight train to Hefei. Two trains carry complete sets of sedan parts and bolts, respectively, traveling through Alashankou to Dostek in Kazakhstan and through Erenhot to the Russian port of Jihonovo.

From 1-2 trains per month at the beginning of its operation to an average of 2 trains per day, the total number of China Europe freight trains operating in Hefei has been continuously increasing, and it has now become a distribution center for goods in East China. From cars, photovoltaic energy storage, integrated circuits, household appliances and other products produced in Hefei and Anhui on the way to Russian wood on the way back, coffee roasting machines, hinges, fiberglass hoses and other products from Germany on the way back, the goods are becoming increasingly abundant.

The weather is getting warmer, and everything is full of vitality. At the end of February, the second phase of the Hefei International Land Port project, with a total investment of approximately 1 billion yuan, officially began construction. As the only operating platform for China Europe freight trains in Anhui Province, Hefei International Land Port is the hub for China Europe freight trains in Hefei. It is of great significance for Hefei to fully integrate into the national logistics cycle, build a "national level China Europe freight train hub", and accelerate the construction of a land port type national logistics hub. The Hefei International Land Port Phase II project, which has started construction this time, is an extension of the Hefei International Land Port Phase I. The project plans to have functions such as a multimodal transportation area, bonded logistics area, customs supervision area, warehousing and distribution area, and comprehensive service area.

As of now, the total number of China Europe freight trains has exceeded 3900, directly reaching 141 international node cities in 18 countries, becoming a "steel camel caravan" for "Made in Hefei" to go global. After the completion of the second phase project, additional services such as trade, warehousing, customs declaration, container leasing, and local short haul can be carried out, forming efficient support for the collection and distribution of China Europe freight trains. The total annual freight volume will reach 82000 TEUs, helping to increase the shipping frequency of China Europe freight trains in Hefei by 10%.Editor/Zhao E
