On March 22nd, SK Ecoplant from South Korea and BCG Energy from Vietnam reached an intention to cooperate and signed a memorandum of understanding, jointly committed to the development and implementation of renewable energy projects.

According to the latest signed memorandum of understanding, SK Ecoplant from South Korea and BCG Energy from Vietnam will work together to promote a series of renewable energy projects in Vietnam. The total capacity of the cooperation project between the two parties is 700MW, including 300MW onshore wind power, 300MW rooftop solar power, and 100MW ground-based solar power.

The wind power project is located in the wind resource rich province of Jialai, and this unique geographical location makes the region an ideal place for large-scale wind power generation. According to the memorandum of understanding, SK Ecoplant from South Korea will not only collaborate with BCG Energy from Vietnam to promote this wind power project, but also work together to install rooftop solar panels in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, and build utility scale ground solar power plants. The cooperation between the two parties is not limited to the projects signed this time, but will also actively explore other renewable energy projects with development potential to meet the strong momentum of Vietnam's energy demand growth rate exceeding 10% annually.

BCG Energy is a subsidiary of Bamboo Capital Group in Vietnam. As one of the largest renewable energy developers in Vietnam, BCG Energy has built and put into operation numerous solar power plant projects such as LONG AN 1, LONG AN 2, VINH LONG, etc., with a scale of approximately 600MW, and over 800MW of wind power projects are also under development. Keywords: overseas engineering, international engineering construction, foreign engineering construction news.

SK Ecoplant, as an environmental and energy enterprise under SK Group in South Korea, has always been committed to promoting global renewable energy and environmental protection. This cooperation with BCG Energy in Vietnam is not only aimed at jointly developing high-quality renewable energy projects, but also aims to obtain carbon credits through these projects and further promote the company's green development goals. In 2021, SK Ecoplant successfully registered for the Clean Development Mechanism under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. This mechanism provides SK Ecoplant with an important platform to obtain carbon emission rights from relevant United Nations agencies based on the actual performance of greenhouse gas reduction projects. Through cooperation with BCG Energy, SK Ecoplant will have the opportunity to implement more efficient greenhouse gas reduction projects in Vietnam, a country rich in wind and solar resources.
