On April 18, 2024, the Chongqing Municipal Development and Reform Commission officially issued approval for the Shizhu Shijia Wind Power Project and the Wushan Guandu Wind Power Project, marking that these two wind power projects have received official approval and recognition.

The Shizhu Shijia Wind Power Project is located in Shijiajia Town and Huangshui Town in Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County. It plans to install wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 100,000 kilowatts and will simultaneously build supporting storage capacity of 20,000 kilowatts/80,000 kilowatt hours. energy facilities and other related ancillary equipment. The total investment amount of the project reached 601 million yuan, showing its important position and huge potential in the field of new energy.

The Wushan Guandu Wind Power Project is located in Guandu Town, Wushan County, and the total installed capacity of the planned wind turbines will reach 45,000 kilowatts. At the same time, the project will also simultaneously construct supporting energy storage facilities with a capacity of 0.675 million kilowatts/0.675 million kilowatt hours, as well as other related ancillary facilities. The total investment in the project reached 274 million yuan, demonstrating its determination and strength in promoting the development of new energy.

The approval of the two projects marks a solid step taken by Chongqing in the development of new energy. They will use a large amount of renewable energy such as wind power to reduce their dependence on traditional fossil energy, thereby reducing carbon emissions, helping to improve air quality and reduce environmental pollution. This not only helps to promote the transformation of Chongqing's energy structure into a greener and low-carbon direction, but also conforms to national and global strategic goals in addressing climate change and sustainable development. The implementation of the project will drive the development of related industrial chains, including equipment manufacturing, installation, operation and maintenance, and create a large number of local employment opportunities. At the same time, the operation of wind farms will also bring stable tax revenue to local governments and further promote the growth of the local economy.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
