As of 8 o 'clock on March 22, the cumulative supply of natural gas from Tarim Oilfield to the west-east gas pipeline network exceeded 350 billion cubic meters, providing a solid guarantee for the production and domestic gas for more than 400 million residents in more than 120 large and medium-sized cities in 15 provinces and municipalities downstream.

On September 1, 2004, with the opening of the intake valve at the first station of West-east gas transmission, natural gas produced in Yaha condensate field of Tarim Oilfield first flooded into the West-east gas transmission pipeline. As a result, clean natural gas traverses the thousands of miles of the motherland, continuously benefiting the downstream masses, and promoting China to fully enter the "natural gas era". With the increasing demand of natural gas market, Tarim Oilfield strives to improve natural gas production capacity and go all out to increase production and ensure supply. By December 2017, the total gas supply to the west-east gas transmission network had exceeded 200 billion cubic meters; As of March 2022, the supply of natural gas exceeded 300 billion cubic meters, helping the proportion of natural gas in China's primary energy consumption continue to increase.

It is estimated that the 350 billion cubic meters of natural gas produced and transported by the Tarim oilfield is equivalent to replacing 466 million tons of standard coal and reducing 757 million tons of carbon dioxide, which promotes the optimization and adjustment of energy and industrial structure in the eastern region of China, especially in the Yangtze River Delta region.

In the past 20 years since the West-East Gas transmission project was put into operation, Tarim Oilfield has successively implemented two trillion cubic meter atmospheres, namely Kela-Keshen and Boz-Dabei, and successfully developed 19 large and medium-sized gas fields, including Keshen 9 gas field, which has the deepest onshore pressure in China, and Keshen 13 gas field, which has the highest onshore pressure in China. In 2023, the natural gas production of Tarim Oilfield reached a new record high, which consolidated the "base" for the downstream economic and social development and the people's livelihood gas security.

Last winter and this spring, in the face of multiple cold waves and heavy snowfall, the Tarim Oilfield firmly adhered to the bottom line of people's livelihood energy, and the daily gas supply of the west-east gas transmission network increased from more than 50 million cubic meters in early October 2023 to 74.83 million cubic meters at the peak of energy consumption.

In addition to increasing reserves and production, Tarim Oilfield continues to improve its gas supply capacity. The first station of West-East Gas transmission, an important hub connecting various gas sources in Tarim oilfield and the West-east gas transmission network, has been expanded three times, gradually increasing its annual maximum gas supply capacity from 12 billion cubic meters to 40 billion cubic meters.

Chang Guichuan, executive director and Secretary of the Party Committee of the oil and gas Transportation and marketing Division of Tarim Oilfield, said: "As of March 22, the first station of west-east gas transmission has been supplying gas smoothly for 7,142 days, with no short supply and no daily supply, achieving 100% control of risks, 100% accuracy in measurement, 100% qualified quality and 100% satisfaction of customers."

At the same time of supplying clean natural gas resources, the Tarim Oilfield has completed the operation of the differential pressure power generation project at the first station of West-east Gas transmission, which can produce 5.2 million KWH of "green electricity" every year, ensuring that the daily production of the first station of West-East gas transmission can achieve carbon neutrality and become a zero-carbon operation station.
