On March 25th, China Energy Engineering Gezhouba Investment Co., Ltd. invested in the EPC general contracting construction of the Central South Institute, and the largest electrochemical energy storage project invested by China overseas, the Uzbek Anji Yanzhou Loqi 150MW/300MWh energy storage project, officially began construction.

Governor Abdulrahimonov of Andijan expressed warm congratulations on the smooth commencement of the project and highly praised the efficient execution ability demonstrated by the project team. He mentioned that this project will create over 300 job opportunities during the construction period, providing valuable employment opportunities for local residents. After the project is completed, it will provide strong regulation capacity for Uzbekistan's power grid, reaching a supply of 2.19 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, thereby ensuring the stability, safety, and adequacy of electricity supply. This will inject new impetus into the local economy and people's livelihood development, promoting sustained prosperity and progress in the region.
Project Introduction
The Lochi 150MW/300MWh energy storage project in Andijan Oblast, Uzbekistan is the first single largest electrochemical energy storage project invested by China Energy Construction Corporation overseas, and the first foreign-invested grid side electrochemical energy storage project in Uzbekistan to commence construction. The project is located in Andijan Oblast, approximately 10 kilometers from Asaka City, with a site area of approximately 6 hectares and a planned total investment of 140 million US dollars. The project adopts electrochemical energy storage lithium iron phosphate cells, equipped with a 150MW/300MWh energy storage system. It is connected to the 220kV side of the Loki substation through the construction of a new 220kV booster station and a approximately 6.1 kilometer long 220kV double circuit transmission and transformation line.

The smooth commencement and construction of the project further deepened the friendly cooperation between China and Ukraine. It is not only Uzbekistan's first foreign-invested grid side electrochemical energy storage project, but also China Energy Construction's first energy storage investment project overseas. The implementation of this project will help strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the energy field and promote the optimization and upgrading of regional energy structure. It also plays a positive role in promoting the development of the local economy and society. During the construction period, the project will create a large number of employment opportunities and provide a stable source of income for local residents. At the same time, after the completion of the project, it will provide strong power regulation capabilities for the Uzbekistan power grid, making the power supply more stable, safe, and sufficient. From a more macro perspective, this project is also a positive contribution made by China in promoting global energy transformation and addressing climate change. Energy storage technology, as an important component of the new energy field, is of great significance in improving energy utilization efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The commencement of China Energy Construction's first overseas energy storage project will contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to global energy transformation and sustainable development.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
