Recently, the construction of the second line project from Ruoqiang to Milan on the Xinjiang Luoruo Railway officially broke ground, and the launch of this major project undoubtedly marks a significant milestone in the construction of the railway network in Xinjiang. This move not only symbolizes another milestone in Xinjiang's railway construction, but also has a profound impact on improving the regional transportation network and promoting economic development.
The Luoruo Railway, a railway line that carries the hope of development in Xinjiang, is constructed by Xinjiang Horuo Railway Co., Ltd. Among them, the newly added second line from Ruoqiang to Milan serves as a key link in the S2 section of the Ruoqiang Railway, with a total length of 60.741 kilometers. This project will be constructed by the experienced China Railway 21st Bureau, relying on the existing Geku Railway for additional construction, achieving a dual track parallel layout, and further optimizing and improving the transportation capacity of the line.
The main amount of work for the project is huge, including 1.52 million cubic meters of roadbed earthwork, 17 bridges, 172 culverts, 163 extended culverts, 9 new culverts, 16 houses, and roadbed ancillary works. Each project carries deep expectations for regional development and will become a strong driving force for local economic takeoff in the future.
The newly built railway from Luobupo to Ruoqiang spans Ruoqiang County, Bazhou, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the 36th Regiment of the Second Division of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. The line starts from Luozhong Station on the Haruo Railway to the east, passes through the dry lake basin of Luobupo, and finally connects to Milan Station on the Geku Railway, and is introduced to Ruoqiang Station along the Geku Railway. This route has a total length of 299.858 kilometers and is designed to reach a speed of up to 120 kilometers per hour. It will become an important passage connecting southern Xinjiang and the inland.

The Luoruo Railway is not only a railway line connecting the road network and developing national resources, but also a key link in filling the gaps in the southern Xinjiang railway loop, improving the entry and exit channels, and filling the gaps in the western railway network. It is an important transportation infrastructure for jointly building the the Belt and Road initiative and implementing the country's opening up strategy to the west. The implementation of the project will greatly enhance the transportation capacity of the route, inject new vitality into local economic development, and also improve the living standards of local people, promote ethnic unity and social stability.
With the smooth progress of the construction of the second line project from Ruoqiang to Milan on the Luoruo Railway, the transportation network in Xinjiang region will be more perfect, and economic development will be more prosperous. This railway line will become a bridge connecting Xinjiang with the inland and to the world, giving wings for Xinjiang's future development.Editor/Cheng Liting
