Recently, the construction of the 1st section of the Pingle to Majiang section of Guangxi Guijiang Channel Project, which was built with the efforts of China Communications Construction Company Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully launched, marking that this key project has officially entered the substantive implementation stage.

As a cross-basin canal connection project that connects the two major water systems of the Yangtze River and the Pearl River, the importance of the Guijiang Waterway Project is self-evident. In particular, the section from Pingle to Majiang that started this time has a total length of 128.5 kilometers, a channel scale of 3.5 meters in water depth, 60 meters in width, and a bending radius of 480 meters. It will become an important water channel connecting the Hunan-Guangxi region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The №1 section constructed by China Communications Construction Company Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. has a treatment length of approximately 86.5 kilometers. It is not only the longest section of the entire line, but also covers a large number of dredging and reef blasting projects. The task is arduous and of great significance.

In terms of waterway project construction procedures, the project department demonstrated efficient communication and collaboration capabilities. They actively communicated closely with the Maritime Safety Administration, Public Security Bureau and other relevant departments, and took the lead in completing key procedures such as water and underwater operation licenses and blasting licenses, ensuring the smooth start of the project. As an important part of the national high-level waterway, the Guijiang Waterway Project plays a vital role in promoting the rapid and coordinated development of the economy along the river and the regional economy. After the completion of the project, it will greatly improve the regional water transport capacity, effectively solve the bottleneck problem of water transport in Hunan and Guangxi, further alleviate the pressure on highway and railway traffic, and enhance the regional collection and distribution capacity.
