In the first quarter of 2024, China-Europe freight trains operated a total of 4,541 trains, sending 493,000 TEUs of goods, a year-on-year increase of 9% and 10% respectively. As of the end of March 2024, China-Europe freight trains have operated more than 87,000 trains, reaching 222 cities in 25 European countries.



According to the person in charge of the Freight Department of China Railway Group, since 2024, the railway department has promoted the construction of China-Europe train channels and route diversity, further expanded the radiation range of China-Europe trains, and launched China-Europe trains from Xi'an, Chongqing, and Yiwu to Poti, Georgia, and Turkey. Istanbul South Corridor transportation test, a total of 6 China-Europe freight trains have been operated through the South Corridor, a year-on-year increase of 200%; newly opened China-Europe freight train lines from Harbin to Tilburg, the Netherlands, Shijiazhuang to Belgrade, Serbia, to facilitate economic and trade exchanges between various places and European countries.



In addition, the service quality of China-Europe trains continues to improve. The railway department has steadily operated China-Europe trains with full timetables between Xi'an and Duisburg, Germany, and Chengdu and Lodz, Poland. The transportation time has been greatly reduced compared with ordinary trains. A total of 65 trains have been operated in the first quarter; the China-Europe trains portal service role has been played. Actively promote the "one-stop" processing of online booking, yard services, container management services, etc.; closely connect with market demand, implement flexible freight strategies, accelerate the construction of overseas warehouses, and customize the production of ketchup, wood, tea, edible oil, new energy vehicles and other special trains; actively apply new technologies such as Beidou satellite positioning and 5G, and implement measures such as loading reinforcement and safety inspections to ensure the safe and smooth operation of China-Europe trains.
