The project will effectively improve the capacity of Tongjiang port and the rear channel, enhance the overall functional benefits of the regional road network, accelerate the formation of a new pattern of all-round opening up to the outside world, and further serve to build a new highland of China's opening up to the north. Jiamusi to Tongjiang Railway renovation project is our province to open to the north of the main line capacity improvement project, the line starts from Jiamusi city Dongjiamusi station, ending in Tongjiang North station, a total length of 258 kilometers. The project period is 3 years, and the total investment approved by the preliminary design is 5.694 billion yuan.

In accordance with the unified deployment of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Transportation, together with relevant departments, actively fought for the project, followed up with special classes, and made every effort to speed up the preliminary work of the project. The preliminary design and construction drawing design of the project were approved on March 1 and March 28 this year, respectively, and have now entered the full start stage, one month ahead of the expected start time.

After the completion of the Jiamusi to Tongjiang Railway capacity expansion and renovation project, the travel time of passenger trains between Jiamusi and Tongjiang has been reduced from 265 minutes to 185 minutes, and the annual freight volume has increased from 18.84 million tons to 37.21 million tons.
