On June 1, 2024, the CCTV news broadcast focused on the successful operation of the first phase of the Sanao Nuclear Power Plant networking project. As one of the key projects in the construction of the green stable power grid in Zhejiang Province in 2024, the project, with a total investment of up to 1.5 billion yuan, aims to optimize and enhance the transmission capacity of the power grid. The entire 500 kV transmission project includes three core line sub-items, which are the 500 kV line project connecting the Sanao nuclear power project and Nanyan, the 500 kV line conversion project from Rui 'an to Nanyan, and the 500 kV conversion project from Ouhai to Nanyan. Together, these sub-items form an important power output network for the Sanao Nuclear Power Plant, marking significant progress in clean energy construction and grid optimization in Zhejiang Province.

As an important part of the first phase of the Sanao nuclear Power Plant network project, the project involves a total of 127 new poles and towers, laying lines up to 51.58 kilometers, through the three townships of Lingxi, Daoxi and Wangli in Cangnan County. In order to ensure that the project can be smoothly carried out and put into production on time, the Cangnan County Power Supply company of the State Grid has adopted the strategy of government-enterprise linkage and actively coordinated the government departments to set up a special team. In the face of multiple challenges such as urgent construction period, heavy tasks and low temperature cold wave, the team completed the policy processing work of 127 bases in Wenzhou in only four months, and realized the smooth opening of the whole line.

When all six units of the Sanao nuclear power project are commercialized, it will supply up to 52.5 billion KWH of clean energy annually for Zhejiang and the entire Yangtze River Delta region, which will exceed the annual electricity consumption of Wenzhou in 2021. At the same time, this move will significantly reduce the dependence on fossil fuels, is expected to save more than 16 million tons of standard coal consumption per year, and significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 43 million tons, which is equivalent to planting about 110,000 hectares of forest, making a great contribution to environmental protection and sustainable development.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
