On June 8, 2024, the first China-Europe Express (Shanghai) premium train departed from Minhang Railway Station and headed for Neuss, Germany, taking 20 days. This train is an international train with fixed time, train number and route that departs from Shanghai every Saturday. The regular operation of premium trains provides a new logistics channel option for the transportation of high value-added and time-sensitive goods between the two major economies of China and Europe, and provides better logistics services for customers in the Yangtze River Delta region.

"After learning about the platform company's plan to launch premium trains, we set up a special window for the "premium train" service, assigned special personnel to connect, find out the company's demands, actively cultivate the development of new formats with the help of premium trains, and implement the existing customs measures to support the development of China-Europe Express in a targeted manner to ensure the smooth launch of premium trains." Wei Wei, deputy chief of the Railway Supervision Section of the Customs of Shanghai Station, said. At the same time, in response to the postal department's request to carry out international mail transportation through premium trains, Shanghai Customs took the initiative to carry out cross-departmental communication and coordination to fully promote the development of new formats.

"The launch of the boutique train provides a new direction for the high-quality development and differentiated operation of our platform company." Hu Xiaoyi, a sales representative from the Marketing Department of Oriental Silk Road Multimodal Transport Co., Ltd., said.

It is reported that since the launch of the China-Europe Express (Shanghai) on September 28, 2021, it has now achieved full coverage of the China-Europe, China-Russia and Central Asia lines, connecting 12 countries and more than 100 overseas cities and stations. As of the end of May this year, a total of 213 China-Europe Express (Shanghai) trains have been launched, with a cargo weight of about 200,000 tons and a cargo value of 7.3 billion yuan.Editor/Zhao E
