On June 13, 2024, the 140,500 kilowatt leading Danyang photovoltaic power Station project was successfully connected to the grid, which is the largest photovoltaic power station in southern Jiangsu.

The leading Danyang photovoltaic power Station is located in Yanling Town, Danyang City, Jiangsu Province. The project makes full use of the fish pond water resources of the surrounding five administrative villages, such as Dalu Village and Zhaoxiang Village, with a total area of 3200 mu. It uses an innovative fish-light complementary model in which photovoltaic panels are installed on the surface of the fish pond to generate electricity, while the lower part continues to be used for fish farming. This design not only makes full use of land resources, but also realizes the harmonious coexistence of fishery and photovoltaic power generation. With a total investment of 750 million yuan, the project is the largest grid-connected photovoltaic power station in southern Jiangsu so far, demonstrating its leading position and great potential in the field of new energy.

The green electricity produced by this photovoltaic power station will be directly connected to the 220 kV Quanzhou substation through a specially laid 110 kV line, thus effectively supplying a large amount of clean energy to the western region of Danyang. After accurate calculations, the plant is expected to generate a staggering 190 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, which is enough to meet the electricity needs of more than 60,000 households for an entire year. It is able to reduce the burning of about 68,600 tons of standard coal per year, and correspondingly reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 200,000 tons, making a significant contribution to environmental protection.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
