On July 2, 2024, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the National Railway Administration. Municipal Party Committee Secretary Yuan Jiajun and Municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Mayor Hu Henghua met with the National Railway Administration Party Committee Secretary and Director Fei Dongbin and witnessed the signing. Deputy Director of the National Railway Administration Wu Dejin, Chief Engineer Tian Jun, and Municipal Leaders Chen Xinwu and Zheng Xiangdong attended.

On behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Yuan Jiajun welcomed Fei Dongbin and his party to Chongqing for research and guidance, and thanked the National Railway Administration for its long-term strong support for Chongqing's development. Yuan Jiajun said that Chongqing is a super-large city and a "five-type" national logistics hub city, with comparative advantages and latecomer advantages such as national strategic superposition, strong industrial foundation, huge development space, and agglomeration of innovative factors. When General Secretary Xi Jinping visited Chongqing, he gave Chongqing the "two major positionings" of striving to build an important strategic fulcrum for the great development of the western region in the new era and an inland open comprehensive hub, and deployed and proposed four tasks, which provided a fundamental guideline for Chongqing's development and injected strong impetus. At present, we are deeply studying and implementing the important speech and important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Chongqing, adhering to the new positioning and new mission, accelerating the construction of a high-level external channel system, solidly promoting the reform breakthrough of "three tough battles and one revitalization", actively exploring new ways of modern governance of megacities, and striving to promote high-quality development, create high-quality life, and achieve high-efficiency governance.
