On July 10, 2024, China Energy Construction Shanxi Institute won the bid for Jinneng Holding's Tongre Phase III 2×1 million kilowatt project. The winning bid amount for the EPC general contracting project was approximately 5.635 billion yuan.
Jinneng Holding Group has planned and launched the Tongre Phase III major energy project at a strategic location about 25 kilometers southwest of Datong City. The project covers a vast area of 433 acres. The core of the project lies in the construction of two high-specification 1 million kilowatt-class high-efficiency ultra-supercritical air-cooled coal-fired generating units. These units not only have excellent heating capabilities, but also integrate the most advanced technology to ensure efficient use of energy. In order to actively respond to environmental protection requirements, the project has simultaneously constructed advanced desulfurization and denitrification facilities, aiming to achieve a clean and low-carbon energy production process and demonstrate the company's firm commitment to green development and sustainable development.
The project is expected to generate 9.536 billion kWh of electricity and 13.11 million GJ of heat throughout the year. The annual average standard coal consumption for power generation is 242.328 g/kWh. The heat-to-power ratio during the heating period is 82.6%. After the project is completed, it will significantly enhance Datong City’s winter heating capabilities and become a solid backing for citizens to enjoy a warm winter. The project will also serve as an important power supply support point for the Datong-Tianjin Nante high-voltage transmission channel, ensuring the safety and reliability of power transmission, which is crucial to the stability of power supply in the northern Shanxi energy base.
