Recently, the Mianyang-Suining-Neijiang Railway (referred to as "Mian-Suining-Neijiang Railway") Mianyang-Suining section has made important progress - its advance land use has been officially approved by the General Office of the Ministry of Natural Resources (Natural Resources Office Letter [2024] No. 1431). This decision marks that the project has successfully passed a key link, land acquisition and demolition work is about to be fully launched, and the project construction has entered the countdown stage.
According to the approval content, the Ministry of Natural Resources reviewed and approved the advance use of 137.08 hectares of land in the Mianyang-Suining section of the Mian-Suining-Neijiang Railway, which is specifically divided into 65.2568 hectares of bridge land, 55.6295 hectares of station land and 16.1937 hectares of tunnel land. This approval provides a solid land guarantee for the smooth progress of the project.

As the core component of the railway line, the Mianyang-Suining section of the Mian-Suining Railway has a total main line length of 136.212 kilometers and a new 16.586-kilometer connecting line. The project design speed target is set at 250 kilometers per hour, aiming to create an efficient and convenient intercity railway channel. During the construction process, a large number of bridges and tunnels will be involved, including 74.729 kilometers of main line bridges, including 153 bridges; 32.606 kilometers of tunnels, covering 63 tunnels, and a bridge-tunnel ratio of 78.80%. In addition, four new stations will be built in Mianyang South, Santai, Shehong, and Suining High-tech, and the existing Mianyang Station will be expanded to further enhance the service capacity of the regional railway network.
This project is not only an important part of the national "Medium- and Long-Term Railway Network Plan" and the "Multi-level Rail Transit Plan for the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle", but also one of the key projects in Sichuan Province's "14th Five-Year Plan" construction projects. As the third high-speed railway invested and constructed by Sichuan Province after the Southern Sichuan Intercity Railway and the Hanbanan Railway, the construction of the Miansuinai Railway has far-reaching significance for optimizing the regional railway network structure and building intercity railway loops in northern, southern and central Sichuan. At the same time, it will effectively promote the high-quality development of the comprehensive transportation system of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle, further improve the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, and inject strong impetus into regional economic and social development.Editor/Cheng Ting
