On July 16, 2024, the 10,000th China-Europe Express Train in 2024 departed from Wuhan a few days ago, 19 days ahead of schedule compared to last year.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said at a regular press conference on the afternoon of July 16 that the China-Europe Express Trains are "steel camel caravans" crossing mountains and seas, and are also "golden trains" full of development opportunities, spanning thousands of miles across Asia and Europe, benefiting tens of millions of families along the route. In the future, the China-Europe Express Trains will continue to benefit each other, connect the world, empower the development of the world economy, and continue to write the legend of the contemporary Silk Road.

Lin Jian said that since 2024, China-Europe trains have cumulatively operated 10,000 trains, sending more than one million TEUs of goods, an increase of 11% year-on-year; the number of trains operated in the three main transport channels of the west, middle and east increased by 13%, 20% and 5% year-on-year respectively, and the cumulative number of China-Europe trains operated in the southern channel increased by 15 times year-on-year, injecting new momentum into ensuring the stability of the production and supply chain and promoting China-Europe economic and trade exchanges. At present, China-Europe trains have reached 224 cities in 25 European countries and connected more than 100 cities in 11 Asian countries. China-Europe trains have also become a landmark brand for the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" with their advantages of fast, high-quality, safe and stable transportation. Today, China-Europe trains transport 53 categories and more than 50,000 kinds of goods. The number of China-Europe trains with full timetables has increased to 17 per week, which not only allows more and more "good Chinese goods" to go abroad at a faster speed and lower freight rates, but also opens up a new trade channel for merchants from all over the world to enter the Chinese market.Editor/Zhao E
