From January to July 2024, a total of 11,403 China-Europe trains were launched, and 1.226 million TEUs of goods were shipped, up 12% and 11% year-on-year respectively. Among them, 1,776 trains were launched in July, shipping 185,000 TEUs of goods, and more than 1,700 trains were launched in a single month for three consecutive months. The head of the freight department of the China Railway Group introduced that since 2024, the China Railway Group has continued to improve the operation quality and efficiency of China-Europe trains, effectively ensuring the stability and smoothness of the international supply chain industry chain, and injecting new momentum into serving China's foreign trade development and high-level opening up.

First, strengthen channel capacity building and improve the transportation efficiency of China-Europe trains. Strengthen domestic and foreign transportation coordination, strengthen the construction of China-Europe train corridors, improve port transshipment capabilities, and promote fast customs clearance modes. From January to July, the number of China-Europe trains on the three main transport corridors of West (via Alashankou and Horgos Port), Central (via Erenhot Port), and East (via Manchuria, Suifenhe, and Tongjiang North Port) increased by 15%, 22%, and 2% year-on-year respectively. The China-Europe trains on the trans-Caspian corridor are running stably and regularly.

Second, expand the scale of China-Europe trains in the full-course timetable and improve the operation quality of China-Europe trains. The scale of China-Europe trains in the full-course timetable has been continuously expanded. Since the implementation of the third batch of full-course timetables in mid-June, 17 trains have been running stably every week, including Xi'an, Chengdu, Chongqing, Yiwu, Wuhan, Guangzhou to Duisburg, Germany, Lodz, Poland, etc., running in accordance with passenger car operation, and the transportation timeliness is reliably guaranteed, which is favored by customers. Closely connect with market demand, vigorously launch customized trains such as new energy vehicles and cross-border e-commerce, and provide high-quality international logistics services.

The third is to strengthen monitoring throughout the journey to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the China-Europe Express. We have worked closely with the railway departments of countries along the route, actively used new technologies such as Beidou satellite positioning and 5G, strengthened monitoring of safety throughout the journey, and strengthened safety inspections, dangerous goods, and loading reinforcement, effectively ensuring the safe and smooth operation of the China-Europe Express.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
