Recently, the feasibility study report review meeting for the Kunming Anning 300MW compressed air energy storage demonstration project was successfully held, chaired by Wang Zhongping from the Power Planning and Design Institute, and attended by senior executives from Energy Investment Group and Yunnan Electric Power Design Institute of China Energy Engineering Group. The project aims to serve as a model for long-term new energy storage on the grid side, enhance the flexibility of the power system, and provide support for the integration of renewable energy into the grid. The successful conference marks the project's progress towards the implementation stage.

22 evaluation experts from the General Electric Power Planning and Design Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics, CNPC Salt cavern Gas Storage Research Center, CNPC Engineering Cost Management Center, Sinopec Jintan Gas Storage, China University of Geosciences and Kunming University of Technology visited the project site. At the review meeting, Yunnan Electric Power Design Institute of China Energy Engineering Group reported on the feasibility study results of the project. The expert group conducted a comprehensive review and systematic demonstration in seven majors, including plant site, electrical control, mechanical engineering, hydraulic engineering, chemical environmental protection, salt cavern gas storage, and technical economy, and formed a feasibility study report review opinion. The unit responsible for preparing the feasibility study report will supplement, modify, and improve relevant content based on expert review opinions to support the high-quality construction of the project.

The Kunming Anning 300MW Compressed Air Energy Storage Demonstration Project utilizes retired salt caverns as gas storage facilities and builds a compressed air energy storage power station on the ground, which belongs to the long-term new energy storage on the grid side. After completion and operation, it can undertake tasks such as peak shaving, frequency regulation, voltage regulation, system backup, and black start of the power grid, which is of great significance for ensuring stable operation of the power grid, supporting the consumption of new energy, and building a new type of power system.

Yuan Li, a first level researcher of the Provincial Energy Bureau, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Yunnan Power Grid Company, Kunming Development and Reform Commission, Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Anning Development and Reform Bureau, Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Forestry and Grassland Bureau, Emergency Management Bureau, China Energy Engineering Yunnan Electric Power Design Institute, Sinopec Petroleum Engineering Technology Research Institute, Group Investment Management Department, Strategic Management Department, Legal Risk Control Department, Safety and Environmental Protection Department, Energy Investment Corporation, and Energy Storage Company attended the meeting.
