On September 4, 2024, the Development and Reform Commission of Ulanqab City officially approved the implementation plan of the source-grid-load-storage integration project submitted by Inner Mongolia Xiangfu New Energy Co., Ltd. The project is large-scale, with a total installed capacity of up to 580,000 kilowatts, subdivided into 450,000 kilowatts for wind power and 130,000 kilowatts for photovoltaic power, and equipped with a 116,000 kilowatt/4-hour energy storage system to enhance the stability and reliability of energy supply.
To ensure efficient transmission and distribution of electricity, a new 220 kV booster station is planned and a well-designed 35 kV collector line will be used to channel power from the individual power generation units to the 35 kV side of the main transformer at the booster station. In addition, the project also covers comprehensive infrastructure construction, including access roads, maintenance roads, advanced operation and management centers, dedicated energy storage areas, and wind turbine box transformers, photovoltaic box transformers and collector lines for wind and photovoltaic systems, aiming to build a complete, efficient and sustainable energy production and transmission system.
The approval marks that the project has officially entered the implementation stage, indicating that Ulanqab City has taken a solid step in promoting the development of the new energy industry and optimizing the energy structure.Editor/Jiang Mingyue
