On September 17, 2024, the construction of the Luanping Pumped Storage Power Station in Hebei Province has entered a new stage, and the construction of the R2 Highway, a key connecting passage between its upper and lower reservoirs, has officially begun.

The route, named R2, serves as a bridge between the upper and lower reservoirs, and its starting point is cleverly set on the north side of the lower reservoir slope, close to the road area, and then gradually elevated in the north direction, ensuring that the construction is efficient and safe. After reaching the Upper Reservoir Dam, the R2 road cleverly crosses the horse road behind the dam and then continues to climb until it reaches the left abutment of the upper reservoir deck rockfill dam, a total distance of 4.594 km.

The launch of this project not only demonstrates the engineering team's accurate grasp and clever use of the terrain and landform, but also indicates that the Luanping Pumped Storage Power Station will soon usher in a more compact and efficient operation system, injecting new vitality into the regional energy supply and economic development.Editor/Jiang Mingyue
