During the visit, Huang Wenbo introduced, "Our power station has a total of 12000 large heliostats, each of which adjusts the reflection angle according to the sun to fix the sunlight at a designated point." The 115 square meter mirrors on each side, with a total area of over 1.4 million square meters, surround the heat absorbing tower at the center 260 meters and "bloom" like sunflowers on the Gobi Desert.
As the first hundred megawatt level solar thermal power station in China with the largest scale of concentrated solar power, the highest energy flow density of heat absorbers, and the highest heat absorption tower, the Dunhuang molten salt tower power station adopts domestically produced core technology and can achieve 24-hour uninterrupted power supply. The introduction of molten salt energy storage systems has broken the temporal and spatial limitations of photovoltaic power generation, ensuring a stable supply of electricity.
