Recently, the Saudi sovereign fund, the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has issued a bidding invitation for the Riyadh Central Business District Project Management Consulting Contract (PMC) to relevant companies. The project is specifically implemented by Tower District Real Estate Development Company,  a wholly-owned subsidiary of PIF .The bidding deadline is extended to March 20 .Potential bidders include Aecom, Bechtel, Jacobs, Parsons and Turner in the United States, and Mace in the United Kingdom.

project

The project is located in the outskirts of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, with a planned development area of 18 square kilometers. The core building of the project is a super high-rise skyscraper project with a height of 2,000 meters and an estimated investment of US$5 billion .The building was designed by British architectural firm Foster & Partners and won the design competition launched in late 2022.The tower will be higher than the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa (828 meters), and the Jeddah Economic Company Tower (formerly known as Jeddah Tower) that is under construction in Jeddah, and the Dubai Yunxi Tower (1400 meters) that has been planned in Dubai.

Jeddah Tower

Recently, Jeddah Tower has resumed work successfully, with bin Laden Group serving as the project general contractor; Turner in the United States has been appointed as a project management company, responsible for project implementation supervision. In addition, the Dubai Creek Tower project in the UAE is also one of the super high-rise buildings of global attention. The tower was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, and was originally planned to be over 1,000 meters in height, aiming to surpass the Burj Khalifa and become a new landmark.

However, construction progress of the project has slowed significantly since 2020 and is still in a state of shutdown.Dubai government and developer Emaar Properties have not announced the latest progress and resumption of work for the project, but it is reported that the final design of the tower may be adjusted to meet market demand and funding conditions.
