On April 9, local time, the Chinese rescue team, the China International Rescue Team, and the rescue team from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, who had successfully completed their international rescue mission lasting more than 10 days, boarded four Y-20 military transport aircraft of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force and set off on their journey back home from Naypyidaw, the capital city of Myanmar. On the eve of their departure, the Myanmar side held a grand gratitude ceremony at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. Vice Chairman Soe Win of the State Administration Council of Myanmar attended the ceremony in person and presented a letter of thanks to the Chinese side, expressing sincere gratitude for the outstanding performance and selfless dedication of the Chinese rescue forces during the earthquake in Myanmar.

In the early morning of that day, the four Y-20 aircraft landed smoothly one after another at Naypyidaw International Airport. Arriving along with them was the fourth batch of emergency humanitarian earthquake relief aid materials urgently allocated by the Chinese government, including 1,248 tents, 10,000 mosquito nets, 9,000 tarpaulins, and 4,000 sleeping bags, with a total weight of over 102 tons. Moreover, out of great love, the Chinese rescue team members generously donated some of the tents, food, and other materials they had brought to the people in the disaster area, bringing them more warmth and hope. In this large-scale rescue operation, the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force dispatched four Y-20 aircraft at one time to carry out an international humanitarian rescue mission, setting a precedent for China's rescue operations. On the same afternoon, the fifth batch of emergency humanitarian earthquake relief aid materials from China arrived smoothly at Yangon International Airport. This batch of materials included 266 tents, 20,000 mosquito nets, 9,000 tarpaulins, and 2,000 cartons of instant noodles, with a total weight of over 91 tons, further enriching the material reserves in the disaster area of Myanmar.

Looking back to March 28, a powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.9 struck Myanmar, causing immediate heavy losses to the local area. A large number of people were killed or injured, and many infrastructure facilities were severely damaged. As of now, the strong earthquake in Myanmar has left 3,649 people dead, 5,018 people injured, and 145 people missing. After the earthquake, adhering to the humanitarian spirit of "when one place is in difficulty, help comes from all quarters," the Chinese side responded quickly and urgently formed a rescue force to go to Myanmar for rescue operations. With the close cooperation of multiple professional rescue forces, including the Yunnan rescue medical team of China, Hunan Yuelu Blue Sky Rescue Team, Chinese rescue team, China International Rescue Team, and the rescue team from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, the rescue operations were carried out efficiently in Naypyidaw and the epicenter area of Mandalay. Nine survivors were successfully rescued successively from a hospital in Naypyidaw, the Mandalay Buddhist Hall, the Great Wall Hotel, the Sky Apartment, and the Golden Country Hotel. Among them were a pregnant woman, a young girl, and a man who had been trapped for up to 125 hours. Lives were snatched back from the hands of death time and time again, igniting the spark of hope for the people in the disaster area.

At the same time, China's non-governmental rescue forces also actively participated in this rescue operation. Ten social emergency forces, including the Zhejiang Gongyang Rescue Team, Shenzhen Public Welfare Rescue Team, Xiamen Shuguang Rescue Team, Hangzhou Red Cross Wolf Pack Emergency Rescue Team, Hunan Yuelu Blue Sky Rescue Team, Beijing Green Boat Rescue Team, and Hebei Blue Sky Rescue Team, fought side by side under the overall coordination and guidance of the Ministry of Emergency Management. They gave full play to their professional advantages and played an important role in the search and rescue operations. According to statistics, the Chinese rescue forces have found a total of 59 deceased bodies, carefully searched and inspected 287,000 square meters of buildings and key infrastructure, and provided free medical consultations for over 2,000 people affected by the disaster. Whether it was the race against time in the ruins for search and rescue, the careful care at the medical rescue site, or the orderly distribution of supplies, all fully demonstrated the professional qualities and profound humanitarian spirit of the Chinese rescue forces.

During the entire rescue operation, the Chinese rescue team received the attention and importance from the leaders of Myanmar. Min Aung Hlaing, the leader of Myanmar, paid condolences to the Chinese rescue team twice. First, Min Aung Hlaing cordially visited all members of the Yunnan rescue medical team of China at the Okkalapa Thiri Hospital in Naypyidaw and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the medical team for arriving in Myanmar at the first time after the earthquake to carry out rescue work. Later, Min Aung Hlaing went to the camp of the Chinese rescue team in Mandalay to visit all members of the Chinese rescue team, the China International Rescue Team, and the rescue team from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China. He deeply appreciated the Chinese rescue team's rapid response and full commitment to the rescue operation after the earthquake and said affectionately, "The Chinese rescue team has come a long way to provide support, vividly demonstrating the profound fraternal friendship between China and Myanmar."

In addition to the front-line rescue operations, many Chinese-funded enterprises and non-governmental organizations in Myanmar also extended a helping hand and actively assisted in the reconstruction work of the disaster area. Chinese-funded enterprises such as the State Power Investment Corporation, China National Petroleum Corporation, and Wanbao Mining Co., Ltd. actively donated money and materials, with a cumulative donation of urgently needed materials worth more than one million yuan, injecting strong impetus into the local post-disaster reconstruction and people's livelihood restoration. Non-governmental organizations such as the Kunming Zhigen Social Work Development Center went deep into Mandalay and other places to carry out practical projects such as community water supply, effectively improving the living conditions of the people in the disaster area and demonstrating the profound friendship between the people of China and Myanmar through practical actions.

In this earthquake rescue operation in Myanmar, the Chinese rescue team raced against time and fought day and night, overcoming numerous difficulties such as high temperatures and aftershocks. With their professional skills and scientific rescue methods, they demonstrated China's responsibility with practical actions, vividly showing China's speed and warmth, and winning high praise from the government and people of Myanmar. The full support of Chinese-funded enterprises and non-governmental organizations in Myanmar for the disaster area has also fully demonstrated to the international community the humanitarian spirit of "working together in times of trouble and looking out for each other," as well as China's good image as a responsible major country.
