Since it was approved by the State Council for establishment on April 30, 2024, the Comprehensive Bonded Zone of Chongqing International Railway Port has targeted a development area of 0.75 square kilometers. Relying on open platforms such as the Chongqing Railway Container Central Station and the Inland Port of the New International Land-Sea Corridor, it has innovatively achieved the integrated operation of two special customs supervision areas within the "large port", and has rapidly emerged in regional economic development.

The Comprehensive Bonded Zone adheres to the development strategy of differentiated and coordinated development, focuses on four core industries: automobiles and their parts, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, cold chain food, and intelligent equipment. It deeply cultivates "bonded +" businesses such as bonded processing and manufacturing, inspection and maintenance, and logistics distribution, and spares no effort to build a new pattern of coordinated development integrating the "international corridor + railway port + comprehensive bonded zone". It is worth noting that the Southwestern Distribution Center of ASEAN Cassava Flour was recently officially inaugurated in the Comprehensive Bonded Zone of Chongqing International Railway Port. Taking full advantage of Shapingba District's geographical location as the origin of the New International Land-Sea Corridor in the west and the open platform efficiency of the Comprehensive Bonded Zone, with cassava flour trade as a breakthrough point, the center integrates four functions: "bonded logistics, processing and packaging, trade services, and multimodal transport". It is committed to building a cross-border supply chain service hub that radiates the southwest region and connects with ASEAN, injecting strong impetus into deepening the trade cooperation in bulk commodities between southwest China and ASEAN countries.

Behind all this is the result of Shapingba District's active efforts to "go global". Previously, a delegation from Shapingba District visited Laos with Chongqing enterprises, facilitating the cooperation between Pan-European Port Company and Southeast Asian Agriculture Company of Laos. The first batch of cassava flour from Laos successfully arrived at the Chongqing Tuanjie Village Container Central Station via the China-Laos freight train of the New International Land-Sea Corridor in the west, and was then transferred to the food warehouse in the Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
