On April 26th, the JBL2 Highway Bridge of the branch line of Package C of the Second Phase of the UAE Railway Project successfully passed the acceptance inspection by the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai and was officially opened to traffic. Mr. Hussein Al Banna, CEO of the Road and Transport Authority of Dubai, visited the site and participated in the opening ceremony.

The JBL2 Highway Bridge has a total length of 1.8 kilometers, with three spans in total, and the bridge deck is 47.4 meters wide. The bridge is designed with a two-way six-lane layout, spanning the branch line of Package C and the D57 Expressway. After it is opened to traffic, it will replace the original roundabout on the highway, improve the traffic flow of the D57 Expressway, and facilitate vehicles traveling to and from the Dubai Investment Park. At the same time, the two level crossings that affected the operating speed of the railway have been cancelled, enhancing the operational safety.

During the construction of the project, it faced multiple challenges such as a long NOC approval cycle, a large amount of work for pipeline relocation and modification, and complex temporary traffic diversion. The project team of Package C withstood the pressure, worked in unison with the employer, and promoted the RTA to promptly approve the NOC for design and construction, the traffic diversion plan, the construction drawings, etc. A meticulous construction plan was formulated, human and material resources were reasonably allocated, and every effort was made to catch up with the construction schedule. Finally, the construction task was completed safely and with guaranteed quality, and the bridge was opened on schedule.

The smooth opening of the JBL2 Highway Bridge has greatly inspired the fighting spirit of the project team of Package C of the Second Phase of the Railway Project.
