On May 22, the 900,000 kilowatt photovoltaic part of the Turpan 1 million kilowatt CSP + photovoltaic integration project invested and constructed by Shudao Clean Energy Group was connected to the grid at full capacity, marking that the project has entered the sprint stage of CSP + photovoltaic full-capacity grid connection.

The project is located in Qiquanhu Town, Gaochang District, Turpan City, Xinjiang, with a total installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts, mainly composed of 100,000 kilowatts of solar thermal power station, 900,000 kilowatt photovoltaic power station and one 220 thousand volt collection station. Among them, the first batch of 300,000 kilowatts of photovoltaic has been put into operation in October 2024, and the 600,000 kilowatts of photovoltaic put into operation this time are connected to the new 220 thousand volt booster gathering station through 192 power generation arrays and 24 collector lines, and finally integrated into the 750 thousand volt Turpan substation through the double-circuit 220 thousand volt line.

After the project is fully connected to the grid and put into operation, the configuration of solar thermal + photovoltaic can achieve 24-hour uninterrupted power generation, using photovoltaic power generation during the day and solar thermal power generation at night. The CSP energy storage power station will effectively play the role of frequency and peak regulation of the basic regulation power supply, and form a multi-energy complementary clean energy base together with the photovoltaic power station. It is estimated that the average annual power generation of the project is about 1.98 billion kWh, which can save about 600,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1.6 million tons per year, which is of great significance to ensure local energy supply and help achieve the "double carbon" goal.

Since the entry of Shudao Clean Energy Group in September 2023, the project construction team has implemented the "tripartite linkage" management model with "grasping progress, ensuring quality, and promoting safety" as the starting point, integrating the forces of the general contractor, design, supervision and other parties, applying the first digital intelligent construction and management system, efficiently promoting key links such as equipment installation and electrical commissioning, and making every effort to promote the project construction. At present, the project team is making every effort to tackle the commissioning of CSP units, working day and night to ensure that the CSP part is connected to the grid on schedule, and strive to achieve the goal of CSP + PV full-capacity production as soon as possible.(This article is from the official website of Seetao www.seetao.com.
