Gansu Province highway service area green low-carbon development took an important step - G22 Qinglan Highway service area near-zero carbon transformation project successfully connected to the grid, marking the first near-zero carbon highway service area in Gansu Province officially put into operation.

The project is implemented by the Gansu Provincial Expressway Service Group, with “energy saving, clean, recycling, intelligence” as the core concept, making full use of idle land resources in the service area, the innovative integration of photovoltaic power generation, micro-wind power generation, energy storage systems and high-power liquid-cooled super fast charging and other green technologies. Through the construction of slope photovoltaic, photovoltaic carport, photovoltaic corridor and light storage and charging integrated charging station, and supporting the micro-wind power generation system and energy storage equipment, to create a set of “wind, light, storage, charging, green, smart, water” in one of the integrated energy system.

Data show that the total installed capacity of the project reaches 1.348 MW, the average daily power generation during the trial operation is about 7,000 degrees, and the annual power generation is expected to be more than 2 million degrees, which is equivalent to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions of about 1,040 tons per year. At the same time, the charging capacity of the service area has been significantly improved, providing efficient charging services for 56 electric vehicles at the same time, with the charging efficiency ranking among the forefront of national highway service areas.
