The Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Luang Prabang Province announced that in order to ensure the safety of the main roads in the province, nine national highways have been urgently repaired. The department head stated that the focus of this repair is on severely damaged road sections that affect traffic, in order to ensure smooth passage of vehicles.
To avoid project delays, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of the province quickly organized bidding, strictly screened contractors with mechanical, human and financial capabilities, and required the winning companies to immediately start construction using the 2025 road fund budget. This project is divided into nine stages, including:
The section of National Highway 13 from the border of Vientiane Province to Xiangnen County is 114 kilometers long;
The northern section of National Highway 13 from Xiangnen County to the three-way intersection of Guoyuan Roundabout, and then extended to Nankang Bridge (Banwanyuan Village Roundabout), with a total length of 21 kilometers;

At present, contractors are stepping up construction, focusing on repairing road sections with high vehicle noise to ensure unobstructed traffic during the rainy season. In the future, relevant departments will also explore the introduction of more powerful enterprises to further improve road standards to meet the traffic needs of heavy trucks.
