At 23:59 on December 18, 2023, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in Dongxiang Sala Autonomous County of Baoan Nationality in Jishishan, Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Linxia, Gansu Province. The earthquake brought great disaster and loss to the local residents. In the face of this serious disaster, the Party committee of CNNC Gansu Company attached great importance to it and quickly launched an emergency response mechanism.

It was winter and the disaster was urgent. The company immediately strengthened information reporting with relevant units such as the Gansu Provincial Emergency Department and the provincial military-Civilian Integration Office, organized and coordinated personnel, vehicles and materials, went all out to cooperate with relevant local parties to carry out earthquake relief work, and fulfilled the social responsibilities of central enterprises. The company is united and fully invested in the earthquake relief work, showing the responsibility and action of CNNC Gansu Company.

On the morning of December 19, the company contacted the Blue Sky Rescue team and learned that the people of Gansu and Qinghai provinces near the epicenter were seriously affected and needed quilts, quilts, tents and other necessary materials. CNNC Huineng Gansu Company urgently dispatched resources from all sides and deployed urgently needed materials in just 2 hours, including 100 quilts, 50 quilts, 20 military tents, 20 boxes each of female hygiene products, instant heating rice and drinking water. In order to ensure that the materials can be sent to the hands of the people in the disaster area at the first time, the Youth League Committee of the Central Nuclear Energy Gansu Company quickly called on the members and young workers in Lanzhou to form a 9-person youth volunteer service team, and gathered at 5 p.m. on the 19th to Dahejia Town, Dongxiang Sala Autonomous County of the Baoan nationality in Jishishan County.
